Quackenstein has just been chosen for the California Readers 2011 Book Collections for School Libraries List! Oh wait . . . I just wrote that in the headline, didn't I? Well, it bears repeating! I'm told by people in the know that this is kind of a big deal. Every year the committee reviews over 1,500 new books, and Quackenstein Hatches a Family was one of 41 books chosen this year.
California Readers, the state's premier literacy and school library advocacy group, is a not-for-profit organization located in Southern California. Its mission is to connect California children, young adults, and their school communities with California authors, artists, and their creative works.
