Almost forgot - my interpretation of the KING OF PENTACLES from The Hive Tarot Show.
I attempted to be true to the symbology of the card while still adding plenty of my own goofery. Even the goofery is rife with meaning and significance! This is one deep card.

I will be showing in the upcoming Tarot card show at The Hive Gallery in downtown Los Angeles. A whole bunch of artists were chosen to come up with their take on different Tarot cards from the Waite Rider Tarot Deck. My card? The King of Pentacles (original card shown above)! To see my awesome interpretation just come on down to the show.
THE OPENING will be on JANUARY 8th at 8pm and will go until 1am.
The show will run from 1/8/2011 to 1/29/2011
There will be a lot of great artists and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's take on their cards.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 07:00PM Quackenstein has just been chosen for the California Readers 2011 Book Collections for School Libraries List! Oh wait . . . I just wrote that in the headline, didn't I? Well, it bears repeating! I'm told by people in the know that this is kind of a big deal. Every year the committee reviews over 1,500 new books, and Quackenstein Hatches a Family was one of 41 books chosen this year.
California Readers, the state's premier literacy and school library advocacy group, is a not-for-profit organization located in Southern California. Its mission is to connect California children, young adults, and their school communities with California authors, artists, and their creative works.
Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 07:11PM We are hip deep into the official release. You can find Quackenstein Hatches a Family in stores now! Barnes & Noble? Yes. Borders? Of course. Your local bookstore that does not specialize in specialty books that are not for children? You bet.
Local library? Sure! Maybe. I don't know. I use my local library all the time, but sometimes the books I want are already checked out!
